Peppermint Polyphenol Extract
Our high-quality extract comes from plants cultivated and processed in the USA under certified sustainable conditions. The key components, known as polyphenols, are secondary plant compounds known for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties [1].
THINK’s extract contains more than 50 different polyphenols, with rosmarinic acid as the predominant component renowned for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, associated with enhanced cognitive performance. [2]
This extract’s effectiveness is backed by four clinical studies. An open-label pilot study and three randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled studies, known for their high reliability, support its benefits.
In the open-label pilot study involving older individuals, it was shown that the polyphenols were not only absorbed (i.e., bioavailable) but also led to improved attention and concentration after 30 days of daily intake [3].
In one of the double-blind studies with individuals experiencing age-related memory decline, improved memory performance and enhanced ability to fall asleep were observed in the group receiving the extract for 90 days [4].
The other two double-blind studies, conducted with young, active, and healthy participants, demonstrated that improvements in attention and a shortened reaction time could be achieved after just 30 days of intake [5, 6].
Marigold lutein extract
Our lutein and zeaxanthin come from marigold flowers grown in India cultivated under sustainable and favorable conditions. These compounds are then carefully extracted in France through rigorously controlled process to ensure the highest quality.
Both lutein and zeaxanthin are both carotenoids and, like the aforementioned polyphenols, cannot be produced by the human body. Lutein and zeaxanthin are well-known for their antioxidant properties and are often associated with positive effects on eye and brain health [7].
In randomized, double-blind, and placebo-controlled studies with our lutein/zeaxanthin, it was found that after 4 months of intake, a specific value called “macular pigment optical density” (MPOD) could be increased. This MPOD value represents the amount of lutein and zeaxanthin in the human eye and is directly related to the amount of these carotenoids in the brain. Elevated concentrations of these molecules in the brain are associated with increased processing speed, improved fluency of speech, enhanced concentration, attention, memory performance, and improved reaction time [8-10].
Zinc oxide
Zinc oxide in THINK comes from the last zinc mine in the Western world, located in Canada, where food-grade zinc is extracted. It’s in the THINK capsules as inorganic zinc oxide.
The link between zinc and a healthy brain is well-established and documented. Furthermore, zinc holds an approved Health Claim granted by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), confirming that it contributes to normal cognitive function. [11]
